🚪 Entry Requirements & Diagnostic Placement (Gate 0)
All applicants must complete the Scenario-Based Diagnostic Assessment prior to admission.
Placement Outcomes:
- Direct progression to Gate 1
- Conditional progression with mandatory remediation
- Deferred entry into foundation analytics track
No learner may bypass Gate 0 under any circumstances.
📚 Curriculum Structure
Gate 1: Analytical Foundations for BI Strategy & Governance
Duration: 3–4 Weeks
Purpose: To establish strategic reasoning, governance logic, and ethical judgment before policy design or tool configuration.

- Role of Business Intelligence in Organizational Strategy
- Decision Rights, Accountability, and BI Operating Models
- Data Literacy for Governance and Oversight
- Ethical Principles in Analytics (fairness, transparency, proportionality)
- Risk, Assumptions, and Public-Interest Considerations
- Excel for Governance Auditing and Control Checks
Assessment Method: Scenario-based written evaluations on governance failures and ethical dilemmas
Pass Requirement: ≥75% overall and ≥50% in Analytical Reasoning
Gate 2: Core BI Governance & Ethical Controls
Duration: 3–4 Weeks
Purpose: To validate the learner’s ability to design and operationalize BI governance frameworks using realistic organizational scenarios.

- BI Governance Frameworks & Maturity Models
- Data Ownership, Stewardship, and Access Control
- Data Quality Management and Auditability
- Metadata, Documentation, and Lineage Standards
- Ethical Risk Identification & Mitigation in BI Systems
- Governance Enforcement Using BI Platforms (Power BI, SQL)
Assessment Method: Case-based governance design project with resubmissions until mastery
Gate 3: Decision Defense & Governance Communication
Duration: 1–2 Weeks
Purpose: To ensure learners can defend BI governance and ethical decisions to executives, regulators, donors, and the public.
Core Modules:
- Communicating Governance Decisions to Leadership
- Defending Ethical Trade-offs and Constraints
- Handling Conflicts Between Speed, Access, and Control
- Incident Response and Governance Failure Management
Assessment Method: Live panel defense of BI governance and ethics framework
Outcomes: Pass | Conditional Pass | Re-defense Required
Gate 4: Professional Portfolio & Certification
Duration: 2–4 Weeks
Purpose: To confirm readiness to lead or oversee BI governance in professional environments.
Portfolio Requirements:
- One complete BI strategy and governance framework
- Ethical risk assessment and mitigation plan
- Documented policies for data quality, access, and reporting
- One publishable governance or ethics paper for the Awake to Power Journal of Productivity & Innovation (AJPI)
Assessment Method: Portfolio review by Certification Panel
Certification Rule: All criteria must be met. No partial certifications issued.
